I booked a 3 bhk house worth approx 4 crores. Initially I was only planning for a 2 bhk for a budget of around 2 .25 crores and that also wasn’t happening for over 2 years. I took up this as my revenue project and started on the journey and today I have booked the flat and will be moving into my new flat in mid 2016 in less than 3 months after the Colloquium got over. It was always in my mind to buy a new flat but it didn’t turn into realty for a long time. I didn’t have the courage and the money. The colloquium helped me to break the project into smaller actions using the work breakdown structure formats and I accomplished the whole project by focusing on the smaller things one at a time. Now I have taken up to clear up my loan in 6 years.
The other result that I produced while I was working on buying the house project was to run the half marathon. I never ran a marathon previously in my life. Instead of one, I ran two half marathons during the Colloquium itself.
I wanted to go on a vacation with my wife to Goa for 4-5 days. This was the third project I had taken up in the Colloquium. Instead of Goa, I took her to Macau, an international destination and we spent 4 times more money as well.
My participation in the Colloquium has changed the way I plan my day. My calendar shows all I have to do and more importantly. I have started reaching on time for my meeting which was a tedious task earlier.
I have now taken up an electronic app for my office planning of projects and I now use my travel time to update all my work on it.
I think the most effective part of the colloquium has been the practical working and the focus on breaking down things into smaller parts and everyone focusing on walking the talk.
